On a Bright Nice Day

On a bright nice day
When birds fly by
And mother robins
Arc high in the sky

I skip through the garden
And lock up the gate
The time’s come to meet you
I just cannot wait

On a bright nice day
When all people wave
And even bad children
Seem better behaved

I skip past the grocer’s,
A beam on my face
Though the sun hugs me tight
It’s you I embrace

On a bright nice day
When the trees gently sway
And even pessimists
Can welcome the day

I enter the courtyard
Where all flowers mature
And sing to the sky
“I can’t wait to see her!”

On a cold rainy day
That is far in the past
I looked out the window
To the waterlogged grass

I missed you so much
But the sun shone its rays
Now that you’re here I shout:
“Goodbye rainy days!”
very optimistic--don't read this unless you like corny little happy poems. it's a nice contrast from my last poem, Jealousy.
